Which businesses does SMB Energy supply?
We work with small businesses including hotels, restaurants, retail stores, offices, salons, clinics, warehouses and industrial shops. Plans are sized to your actual consumption rather than a one-size-fits-all commercial rate band.
Will switching business energy supplier interrupt my gas or electricity?
No. Your supply continues exactly as it does today. Switching changes who supplies your energy and the rate you pay for it. Your local utility still delivers the energy and maintains the lines and pipes, so there's no interruption and no new equipment.
What's the difference between a fixed and variable business energy rate?
A fixed rate locks your price per kilowatt-hour or per cubic metre for the length of your contract, making your supply cost predictable and easy to budget. A variable (or floating) rate moves with the wholesale market — cheaper in some months, more expensive in others.
In which provinces can a business choose its own energy supplier?
Ontario and Alberta are Canada's deregulated energy markets, which is where businesses can choose a competitive electricity or natural gas supplier instead of defaulting to the regulated rate. Other provinces are served by a single regulated provider.
Are there hidden fees or surprise charges?

How much of my energy bill can a supplier actually change?
Only the supply portion. The rest of your bill is delivery, transmission and regulatory charges set by your utility and regulator, which no supplier can discount.
